I know how it works... He has a midi pickup running into the M3. He is not strumming or doing anything during Surfer's Hymn. He seems to only use the M3 for sequencing, and adding effects to his guitar, which he might even do with his 555.
So no, I don't think that's really what he's doing. He's using it as a powerful effects processor and sequencer.

He's just using it the same way you'd use a 555 for surfers hymn, triggering loops with the trigger pads. |

I'm done voicing my opinion here. You guys are too in love with these dudes to have anyone criticize them. Anytime I say anything negative, people go crazy on me.
|
well i think youve made your points abundantly clear.... you dont need to drill through everyone's heads how terrible you think panda is |

Not trying to drill it through anyone's head at all. I've posted like... four times in this topic. Most of those are merely defending my opinion. I'm not like, trying to force you guys to hate Panda Bear haha
|
i know where you're coming from. I've also often wondered how he can sound so nice in the studio and so pitchy (sometimes) live. Playing samplers is still tough, mind you, but I can't imagine it's harder than playing drums or guitar and singing at the same time.
But yeah guys, I don't feel like ornament is trying to bash panda or his opinions into anyone's brains. he's just expressing an opinion |

Because in the studio you can sing a part over and over again until you get it right. |

thing is, if you trigger a sample at the wrong time it becomes a 5 minute fuck up instead of a 2 second fuck up on the guitar. also it's a whole different dynamic having to trigger samples, trigger midi shit, sing, and do god knows what else. and try to make these songs that no one has heard fun for people the fist time they hear them. |
